Support and move-ins

What TantaHost will fix, and what it will not.

Support is practical, direct and written down. Existing customer faults are watched daily. Project work, advice and migrations are booked into normal hours.

Support hours

Normal hours first, urgent faults watched longer.

Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30. Saturday 10:00 to 13:00 for booked domain and email changes only. Closed Sundays and bank holidays. Urgent hosting faults for existing customers are monitored 08:00 to 22:00 every day.

Restore fees

Emergency restores have a fixed start.

Out-of-hours emergency restore for existing hosted sites is £60 flat call-out plus £45 per hour after the first hour. If it can wait until normal hours, it normally should.

Priority ladder

The order things get looked at.

  1. 01Down site

A hosted site is offline or returning server errors.

  2. 02Mail not sending

Mailbox delivery fault affecting current hosted mail.

  3. 03Domain renewal

Renewal or transfer deadline with real risk.

  4. 04Migration appointment

Booked move-in work with access already supplied.

  5. 05Advice request

Non-urgent DNS, mailbox or hosting questions.

Backups

Daily logs are checked because restores matter.

Starter and Local Business plans include daily backup retention for 14 days. Shop / Busy Site includes twice-daily backups retained for 21 days. Backups are not a substitute for keeping software updated or avoiding risky plugins.

Move-in checklist

Bring access, not guesswork.

  • Current host login.
  • Domain login or registrar access.
  • WordPress administrator login if applicable.
  • Mailbox list and aliases.
  • Preferred go-live time and any quiet trading period.

Security

Included upkeep, not miracle cleaning.

Hosting includes SSL, supported PHP options, routine server-side care and backup checks. Extra work may be charged where a site needs plugin repairs, malware cleanup, manual database work or emergency restore time. A compromised site may be refused until cleaned if it is sending spam, attacking other systems or risking other TantaHost customers.

Refused work

Some accounts are not worth the risk.

TantaHost does not provide bulk email platforms, mailing-list blasting, cold outreach infrastructure, adult, gambling, weapons, fake pharmacy, copyright-infringing sites, unmanaged VPS rental or anonymous domain registrations. It does not take website design projects from scratch; it will host, migrate and maintain, but is not a design agency. It does not promise to repair hacked sites that are not being moved onto TantaHost hosting afterwards.

Owner notes

Support is calmer when one person keeps the notes.

The useful bit in small hosting is often not heroic engineering. It is remembering that the charity treasurer uses one mailbox, the shop owner only checks email on a phone, the club domain is registered in the secretary's name, and the last migration had to wait until after a Tuesday booking window. When support is passed around a large desk, every awkward detail has to be rediscovered before the real work starts. TantaHost has stayed small because continuity saves time. It means the person answering can look at the backup log, remember why a DNS record was left alone last year, and say plainly whether a request is routine, risky or likely to cost money. That is slower to scale, but it is much better for the sort of Nottinghamshire organisations this service was built for.

Need to move in?

Email hello@tantahost.com with the domain, current host and what is broken or needed. Do not send passwords by email. Martin will ask for a safer route when access is required.
