What to send, depending on what you have.
.uk IPS tag
Ask the old provider to change the IPS tag. .uk transfers are often same day once the tag is changed.
Generic auth code
For .com, .net and many other domains, request the auth code from the losing registrar and forward it to TantaHost.
Registrar lock
Remove the registrar lock before transfer. Some registrars also require email confirmation.
Expired domain
Email before doing anything dramatic. Expiry rules vary and recovery can cost more than renewal.
Nameserver-only change
If the registration is staying put, TantaHost can still change nameservers or DNS records once access is available.
DNS help
Mailbox records and tidy-ups.
Mailbox setup and DNS tidy-up is £35 fixed price for up to 5 mailboxes, then £6 per mailbox after that. Typical work includes MX changes, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, mailbox records and removing old records that confuse delivery.
Renewal honesty
Registry orders cannot be unsent.
Minimum order is one domain year. Domain registrations and renewals cannot be refunded once submitted to the registry. If a renewal date is close, say so in the first email so it can be handled in the right order.
Local handover
Leaving an old designer or old employee account.
If your domain is still in a designer account, a former volunteer login, or a staff member's personal registrar account, TantaHost can help plan the handover. Remote work is preferred, but on-site visits for DNS, email and handover work are available within 18 miles of Nottingham city centre. Visits are £55 for the first hour and £35 per hour after.

How long do transfers take?
.uk transfers are often same day once the IPS tag is changed. Other domains usually take 1 to 5 days depending on the registry and losing registrar.
Is privacy included?
Privacy is used where the registry allows it and where normal billing details can still be provided. TantaHost does not offer anonymous domain registrations.
What happens on expiry?
Some domains simply stop resolving, some enter grace periods, and some become expensive to recover. Email early if the date is close.
Why do some domains cost more?
Premium names and some country-code domains are priced by the registry differently. TantaHost will confirm the price before ordering.
